Important Poker Phrases Three
Today I am going to continue with poker terms you would benefit from learning when you use money poker sites. Last time I left off at the letter E.

For both cash and MTT poker on Ultimate Bet for Mac, it would be wise to learn about “effective stacks”. When two players are in a pot, the maximum either of them can bet is the amount of chips in the shortest stack, also known as the effective stack. If you have 3,400 chips and your opponent has 2,200, the effective stack is 2,200.

The next term I would like to describe is “flip”, a suggestion that might come if you play a friendly cash game on a Lucky Ace Poker download. Basically the players involved in a flip agree to go all-in preflop with whichever cards are dealt to them. The term flip also has another definition: a “coin flip” is when you have 50/50 odds in a hand. For example, if you sit at a cash table and you get it all-in preflop with QQ vs AK, this is referred to as a flip since you are around 50% to win the hand.

I thought “gutshot” was a good word to pick for the next letter. A gutshot is any straight draw with just 4 outs. For example, say you chose to play some hands rather than play Craps online, and you get dealt 78 preflop. You call a raise and you get A46 on the flop. You have a gutshot since you need a certain card to make a straight, which usually means you have just 4 outs. This is also known as an inside straight draw.

The next term we will learn about is “hero fold”. It is a hero fold when you reluctantly lay down a strong hand. Perhaps you are in a cash game on your Everest Poker download and you are playing with someone that you have never seen raise before. You receive 23s blind versus blind and flop a flush, but when you bet, your opponent raises! Folding this hand following a single raise is definitely a case of a hero fold. It may seem nitty, but unlike most other games, poker requires hard thinking and sometimes big folds are necessary.

That is my last term for this entry, but the letter "I" will be first up when I write another entry in a few weeks. Between now and then, hopefully you play a ton of hands. If you haven’t already made an account at PokerStars, I highly recommend it. Tu primer juego de póquer, tu primer torneo, tu primer pozo. Empieza donde está lo mejor del póquer.
